Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our bare floor tests They're also particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. There are some issues however, which prevent them from being our first option. One of the Q5's shortcomings is that its navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's therefore prone to become stuck on socks and shoes, and it couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people well during our tests. It also doesn't come with an image sensor that lets it see the corners of the room.

It's still a good value, especially if your office or home has a lot of bare floors and you want to save some money. Plus, it's very quiet and can be used while you're at work, or going to school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stick well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with a self-emptying dock, though. And, if you have to change the mopping pad to dry ones in just a few seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that can sweep floors. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it simple to clean and efficient at tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also features self-emptying dustbins, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, though it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

This highly efficient mop and vacuum combination utilizes advanced sensors to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste, and it also learns your home's layout over time to provide more efficient cleaning. You can alter its cleaning schedule and customize zones using the app that is well-designed. It comes with a battery life that is similar to other models.

It can also clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature we haven't seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

This robot vacuum and mop combination features a sleek, circular look that looks more like a regular Roomba model than the boxy models of the competitors. It is one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The newest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest model, with features that are cutting-edge like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum to score 100% in our evaluations due to a mix of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured lighting system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is simple to use. It has an easy mobile application interface and integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that it's still quite loud, which can be an issue if you use it in the morning before work or at night as you try to sleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, although it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally powerful and better-looking. If you're willing to put up with a little more noise and some extra cost it's a efficient two-in-one device that should please almost everyone.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot vacuum and mop. It comes with a variety of advanced features that help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner, similar to Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically emptys the auto vacuum and mop's bin and refills the water tank, as well as washes and dry mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floor plans and spot obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its premium competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera to detect hazards in real-time, although this wasn't quite reliable in our tests and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more sophisticated than its price would suggest. It has a great vacuuming performance, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using only one pad and a reciprocating motion that is more efficient than most of the mop cleaners with robots that we've examined. It's also self-sufficient with a fully-featured app, and a self emptying base that is washable.

The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate a mapping run that collects data on your floorplan and any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, plan an area for cleaning or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt to ensure better performance. The app comes with a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It is also able to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It has a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction, as well as clever combs for removing pet hair. It also has the ability to set up a spot clean that thoroughly cleans a particular area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes.
