The Braava Jet 240 is one of the cheapest robot mops we've tried, and it's also one of the most feature-packed. It is designed to work with a machine-washable cleaning pad (two for $20) or single-use Bona Cleaning Solutions. The only other thing that it requires to operate is water that you fill via the reservoir, which is removable and spout-free at the back of the robot. The robot will only mop if the pad is attached and the tank is fully filled. If you request it to clean but without these two items it will not vacuum.

The setup is fairly easy. To get started, attach a cleaning pad to the bot, and push it down until you hear a click. The bot will then automatically recognize the type of pad, and will select the appropriate mode. If you're using a damp sweep pad the robot will move in a sweeping manner when using mopping pads that are wet it will make use of a more deliberate, back-and-forth scrubbing motion.

The robot did a great job of picking up dust, dirt and other debris on the floors that are tiled in a small apartment. It didn't do a great job but it did an excellent job of cleaning big, sticky messes. It also did a very efficient job at getting rid of water spills, even though it was not able to get rid of some of the more difficult ones.

Its performance in navigating between rooms isn't as impressive. It is able to move around the room efficiently however it doesn't have a map of your home like other robots. Its navigation is a bit awkward; we found it to hit things quite often such as our foot and a cat.

The iRobot Braava Jet 240 makes a great choice for a family that is busy and would like to keep their home looking good without spending a lot time on it. It's not as flexible as our top picks, but it does a good job at keeping the kitchen and bathrooms looking beautiful.

iRobot Braava Jet m6

The iRobot Braava Jet m6 is a mopping robot with some additional capabilities that make it one of the most advanced robotic floor cleaners available. It can vacuum, sweep and mop floors on hard surfaces such as laminate, wood, tile and carpets. Its battery life is long, which allows it to clean up to 1,000 square foot in one cleaning session.
