iLife V3S pro

The V3s Pro was the least expensive robot we test. It still did well in suction tests. It has a long run time and many smart features. For example cliff sensors keep the device from falling or scratching antique furniture legs. It also has an interactive map feature to point areas that don't need to be cleaned, which could save you time and money over the long term by eliminating unnecessary cleaning.

The V3S Pro excelled on the pet hair test, capturing all of it without hairs that were tangled or debris left behind. This makes it a fantastic choice for pet owners who have carpets and hard surfaces. It also did well in the test of dirt and crumbs by picking up dirt and crumbs that we deposited on the flooring without issue. It also performed well in the obstacle tests. It navigated across the furniture and power cables we put in its path.

It is designed with a small footprint, making it easy to maneuver in tight spaces. It comes with a remote control that's easy to comprehend and use using just one button, as opposed to competitors' many buttons. This is a refreshing change for those who are looking for a more user-friendly model. In our lab tests, the V3S Pro finished our cleaning runs in an average of 1 hour and 31 minutes. It has a large dirt bin that can be controlled remotely via the iRobot HOME app, compatible with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Apple Siri for voice control. It has physical controls too and includes a Dual Virtual Barrier that allows you to identify areas that the robot should not be allowed to enter in order to safeguard objects like pet bowls and furniture.

Its smart mapping, room-by-room navigation and semi-random navigation are more efficient than many robots that compete with it. This allows it to cover more space per cleaning job. Its high-performance filter blocks dust and allergens from getting into the air when it is working and is a boon for allergy sufferers.

The Roomba i4+ EVO was among the most efficient vacuums we tested in picking up crumbs from our test kitchen floor and removing coffee grounds from carpets with a medium pile. Its ability to clean bare floors was average, however it excelled in removing debris from corners and underneath furniture. It was able to navigate the transitions between surfaces and did not get stuck on our power cords or other objects.

The i4+ EVO also comes with one feature unique to it that most other models don't include: the i-series self-emptying Dock. The dock emptys the device's dustbin into large bagged bin inside the charging station. This allows you to save time and effort as you don't have to empty the internal dustbin every day.

Self-emptying is a great feature to cut down on maintenance requirements and decreases the number of times you'll need to pay for bags that need to be replaced. The HEPA-style filters from iRobot are included in the i4+ EVO will help reduce the frequency you have to purchase bags for replacement.

The i4+ is much less expensive than the Roomba S9 which is better constructed, more durable, and delivers a much more powerful performance on both bare floors as well as high and low pile carpeting. The Roomba S9 is also compatible with Google Assistant and Alexa, making it possible to start a cleaning cycle with just your voice.

Roborock Q5+

The Q5+ robot is a budget model with a range of impressive features, including a 2700Pa suction force. The PreciSense Precision LiDAR generates 3D maps of the room which allows it to move around and avoid obstacles. The app comes with useful features, allowing you to customize cleaning routines and create no-go zones. It also offers rapid mapping, which can help it cover a large space quickly and efficiently.

The app can also alter the height of the robot's brushroll according to the type of surface and the type of floor and floor type, which is an added bonus. It did a great cleaning job on hard floors in our tests. It struggled a bit on carpets, however. The flour test was especially disappointing, as the robot appeared to move the grain around rather than suck it up leaving visible streaks. This is a common problem with robot vacuums that perform well on hard surfaces, but aren't as effective on carpet.

Fortunately, this issue isn't an issue for the majority of people. The Q5+ is still an excellent choice for people who use the robot primarily to clean their carpets since it has a number of other smart features to overcome this issue. The app also allows you to set specific times for the robot to run which is a great feature that many other robots don't have and it has a multi-story memory that allows it to remember the different areas of your home even when you move furniture around.

Another nice bonus is that the Roborock is fairly simple to maintain. The auto-emptying bin of the Roborock holds a lot of debris and will stay at the bottom of the charging station after it is fully emptied. This means you don't need to empty it as frequently as other robotic vacuums. The only downside is that the bundled self-emptying dock Pure is available in two pieces and requires a screwdriver to assemble, but this should be fairly simple for the majority of users.

Eufy RoboVac Max 11S

The 11S Max is a fantastic robot vacuum for novices and technophobes seeking an easy daily clean-up. It can clean your floors just as well as other models that cost more. The BoostIQ feature also boosts the power when it detects dirty floors. This feature is great however, it can reduce the battery's life and output of sound. (It's more of an annoying increase in volume, not a deafening one.) This model's Max mode will give you about 60 minutes instead of the standard mode's 100 minutes.

It is a great choice for carpets that are hard, medium-pile or even on floors and doesn't have issues with raised edges and transitions. It's quiet, too - in fact, it doesn't hear the noise of television or music when it's in use. If you want to schedule the robot to clean each day, it's easy. Just press the button at the top of the unit to begin it, and then set the hour and minute to your liking using the remote control.

However, it has a hard time on low-pile carpet, and its dust compartment is easily clogged by hair. It's also easier to maintain than the Shark ION Robot AV753 Series, though that competitor has a superior companion app, and has better performance on high-pile carpet. It also has a bigger dirt compartment, though it's less effective at dealing with large debris like cereal boxes. The bObsweep Bob Pro is similarly more efficient than the ILIFE A4s however it's more durable and has lower recurring costs.
