The Eufy 11S is one of the cheapest self-emptying robot vacuums on the market. It efficiently sucked up dry oats from hard floors and low-pile carpeting in our tests. Its dustbin opens and empties easily, making it more convenient to use than some other models at its price.

It recharges at its base and then resumes Ultimate Cleaning Convenience: Ultenic T10 Elite Robot Vacuum+ when ready. Its obstacle-avoidance tech gets tangled in socks and cords, and isn't able to get under thresholds that are low.

1. iRobot Roomba 11S

The 11S is one of the most affordable self-emptying robots and a lot of people seem to love it. It's great for scooting under furniture and seems to be a great choice for people with hard floors or those who want to do light daily cleans. The suction is less powerful than our top picks but it's still effective. It also comes with a huge dirt bin and a battery that can last for more than an hour. The app allows you to schedule your daily cleaning routine or pick a specific room. You can also mark your home to help the device avoid areas that you don't wish it to visit.

The app is simple to use and has an intuitive layout. It's not a full-featured app however, it's simple to use and lets you check the status of your robot. It also comes with a helpful tutorial to guide you through the basics.

The cleaning pattern of Bounce Navigation isn't always rational. Sometimes it follows straight lines, and other times, it focuses on the edges of a space. But it cleans the entire floor. It's not the best at negotiating obstacles though. It struggled to get under our piano pedals and pet food bowls, and ended up getting caught in our 2.25-inch shag rug a few times.

We believe there are better robot vacuums available than the 11S. The iRobot Roomba 694 is better-built, easier to maintain, incurs lower recurring costs and is less time-consuming to charge. It also has a larger dustbin and is more effective on all types of surfaces and is able to get over obstacles that are low (like electrical cords) more easily.

The eufy RoboVac 11S is a different option for regular vacuuming. It's designed in a similar way to our top pick and it is great at picking up fine dirt and larger debris on hard floors. It is able to do a great job on carpets with a medium or low pile. It has a large dirt container and uses BoostIQ for automatic suction power adjustment. It comes with a simple remote control and you can set up daily cleanings with the app. Its battery lasts about an hour, and the dustbin can be empty without taking it from the dock.

2. Roborock S7 maxV Ultra

Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra robot vacuum and mop with self emptying mop and vacuum is a fantastic robot that comes with a an array of amazing automated features. It comes in three versions, the basic S7, the S7 MaxV Plus and the S7 MaxV Ultra. The S7 MaxV Ultra is the only model with an Empty Wash Fillet Dock (or an alternate Auto-Empty Dock). These docks allow the robot to return to its base, empty the collected debris in a dust bag or reservoir, empty the dirty water tank and wash its mopping pads.

Sensors on the S7 work in tandem to clean and eliminate obstacles. It can recognize floor types and save a map of rooms and zones. It can even determine dirt levels. It also has the ability to plan and conduct spot cleaning sessions. It was able to perform well in our tests, but it didn't exactly match the Roomba j7+ in our carpet deep clean test.

Utilizing the companion app, you can program the S7 to perform a cleaning cycle in accordance with your schedule. You can select the cleaning mode that is eco or automatic, as well as the day, week or time. You can also decide whether the robot will stop if its power is exhausted or when it comes across an obstruction.

The IQ XL is able to connect to your WiFi at home and allow you to track its progress on cleaning from the Shark app. The app lets you create a cleaning schedule and also receive push notifications on its status as well as pause cleaning and then clean up, or set it to clean only one area. You can also control it with voice commands using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. The app will show the user which the current power mode is such as Eco Normal, Maximum, or Normal - but we found that none of these settings made an obvious improvement in the performance of cleaning.

The IQ XL will automatically empty the dustbin at the end of each cleaning cycle into the base, which will automatically empty itself. The bin can store up to 60 days of debris, meaning you don't need to empty it more than once, unless your pets have long hair. If you do have to empty it, all you have to do is remove the side bin, hold it up to a trash can, and press a button to eject its contents.

There's nothing to dislike about the Shark IQ XL, although it is a little less well-built than the Roomba 694. It is able to remove a lot of debris on bare floors and does a good job of moving itself around however it's not as close to achieving the same performance as the iRobot Roomba i7 in regards to performance on carpeted surfaces. The i7 also feels more sturdy, is more durable and requires less maintenance. It has lower recurring costs and charges more quickly and has similar battery performance. It also comes with more advanced features for automation, like no-go zones and the ability to select the rooms that should be cleaned.

4. iRobot J7+

This robot vac and mop combo is a rare beast that can do both tasks well. iRobot Combo J7+ comes with all the features and smarts similar to its j7 counterpart including LiDAR maps and self-emptying. But it also offers additional features for mopping and vacuuming.

The j7+ makes use of the latest acoustic sensor to determine the type of floor, so that it can mop or vacuum the room in its first attempt. This information can also be used to determine the best cleaning options for rooms with carpets or carpets versus rooms with hard flooring.

It has a difficult time dealing with pet hair, large pieces of debris and sand. But it is able to clean them with a little more effort. It has excellent navigational skills and two cliff sensors to stop it from falling down stairs or becoming caught on furniture legs.

The J7+ has a few small flaws, namely that it can be stuck on cords or rugs and doesn't always switch off the mopping function when it's finished vacuuming. Otherwise, this is an excellent model that ticks all the right boxes.

iRobot j7+ has also one of the best auto-emptying systems we've tested. It deposits its 14oz / 0.4-liter dust container into the base station where it automatically emptys itself for you. This helps reduce the amount of trash that you must get rid of. You will only have to replace the dust disposal bag on the dock every 60 days, based on the frequency you use the J7+.
